Personal Project Update

So it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do. Looking at Professor West's page, I decided to go with digital storytelling since I love to tell stories and I feel like that is very applicable to history. But as I got going, I realized that I wasn't really learning much new technology, which is a main point of the project. So I recently changed what I was going to do, which is why I'm blogging about it a little late. No worries, though, I'll get it done just fine! What I've decided to do is the Virtual Stock Exchange game. I have never used this website before, and it seems like a great activity for students in a history class. It took me a long time to sort of figure out why the stock market has been so closely tied to our economy and to US History. So I have registered for the exchange online and created my own private game. I am going to make a video using Screentoaster, which I also have not used before, to show students what they need to do to get started. I've already written out a script so that I can give as much information as I can which students will need for their game. That is where I am so far, and I feel confident that I can finish the rest very soon.
